How the Band Got Started
Billie Joe Armstrong met Micheal Pritchard(Mike Dirnt) when they were in the 5th grade. They became
best friends instantly. Eventually, Mike moved into Billie's basement because of some issues at home and they started a band
called SWEET CHILDREN with drummer John Kiffmeyer(Al Sobronte). A while after their first cd, 1,039 SMOOTHED OUT SLAPPY HOURS
came out, John left the band. Billie and Mike replaced him with Tre Cool (his real name is Frank Edwin Wright 111). A while
after, they changed their name to GREEN DAY. And that's how they got started. ;>
